It's funny who you run into at these things…

I look terrible in this photo. Maybe from all the running around trying to get to get to all the different stages. Or from finding out through word of mouth that Tom Petty was only allowing select photographers into the pit.

But whatever. Dooce is awesome. So is her husband. We nerded out about camera equipment and music while walking from Regina Spector’s set to the Walkmen’s. Some of the nicest people I have ever randomly met.

And I’m learning that that’s what makes these festivals worth it in the end (well, besides portfolio phot0s). You’re not really absorbing the music when you only get to hear 3 songs’ worth, and they never make it easy for media people at these things. And not to mention that you have security guards changing your access rules every half hour. But all those little (and large) annoyances tend to have a bonding effect on the people they affect. Don’t get me wrong, there’s always an asshole photographer or two, but mostly, everyone’s just trying to help each other out.

Okay, enough sappiness. I’m clearly exhausted. And there’s photo editing to be done.
