After checking the weather forecast for this weekend on Friday, I was planning on spending most of it on the couch reading and watching movies. However, the sun broke through yesterday afternoon, and it seemed like too much of a waste to carry on with my previous plans. So I took my new macro lens and a friend to the Desert Garden in Balboa Park to check out some of the blooming cacti. It was definitely worth the energy!
Oddly enough, manually focusing on these guys was quicker and far more accurate (and far less frustrating!) than trying to use the autofocus.
Okay, so this wasn’t shot with a macro lens, but I had to try out my new polarizing filter for my wide-angle lens!
