I don’t know shit about skateboarding, so if anyone can name any of these tricks, be my guest. Loads more photos here.
Some thoughts:
- Should have rented a lens with a slightly wider aperture. It would have been nice to have people in the background a little more blurry for some of the shots, to emphasize the skater, and you need a wide aperture to do that.
- I should try shooting skateboarders at night. Longer exposures (using a low tripod with the camera angled upward and a fisheye lens on it) and wider aperture call for more low-light conditions – not sun glaring off of white concrete.
