I’m extremely lucky to know several people who work at the Salk Institute, which always comes in handy when I have architecture friends visiting on weekends. Or, in this instance, when an extremely talented artist collaborates with the Institute for it’s 50th anniversary. I was able to join the faculty and employees of the Salk Institute for a private tour, and the installations were absolutely amazing. If you think the glasswork looks familiar, maybe it’s because you’ve been in the lobby of the Bellagio in Las Vegas and looked up. Chihuly is responsible for the ceiling there 🙂
The afternoon turned pretty overcast (an early taste of May Grey), so I’ll tease you a little bit by saying that the next evening we came back for some night photos…
