Photos: Golden Hill, Barrio Logan and Chicano Park, 03/28/2010

Have I mentioned on here that I’m a nerd? If you haven’t picked up on that yet, let me just say that this day started out with a plan to follow the Golden Hill self-guided walking tour. It was Lucas’ idea. Like I said – NERDS.

It ended up being quite the fantastic adventure. We discovered areas of Golden Hill that neither of us had ever seen before, and then we headed down to Barrio Logan – stumbling across a pinata/mexican candy/ice cream store on the way that I’m convinced carries any type of pinata you could ever possibly imagine. Also, there was a horse on top of an oddly unrelated truck recycling center. And then there was Chicano Park – talk about a great way to use urban space. We happened to walk into the middle of an Aztec interpolation of Catholic Palm Sunday, which of course made for some great photos.
