The Decemberists – “I Was Meant for the Stage”

I listened to this song on my way into work this morning and, as it always does, it almost propelled me into tears. The good kind.

I almost linked the version from the Hollywood Bowl show with the LA Philharmonic, but I think I like this more stripped-down version better (even though the first line of the song is cut off). Both give me chills though. And also, the tackling of the drummer at the end is pretty awesome.

And that, folks, is my Monday morning motivation. Time to get crackin’ on the science.
