Tonight! Things Around Town

I’ll be photographing The Rubberneckers/My Life in Black and White at O’Connells tonight, but there’s about a katrillion other things going on as well.

St. Vincent is at the Casbah. St. Vincent is Annie Clark, a 24-year-old (!) who’s already played guitar with The Polyphonic Spree and Sufjan Stevens. Her debut record Marry Me was released on Beggar’s Banquet, the label owned by members of The National, and she will be opening for them when they come through town in September.

Lady Dottie and the Diamonds are playing in a cover band contest at Viejas – winner walks away with $20,000. It’s a free show, and audience response is part of the judging criteria. The contest starts at 8PM, and the address is as follows:
Dream Catcher Lounge @ Viejas Casino
5000 Willows Road
Alpine, CA 91901

And finally, if you happen to be in LA, go see The Prayers open for the 1990s at The Echo. You won’t be disappointed.
