We had only booked the first night of our camping trip at Fernwood Resort, figuring that the next morning we’d grab a first-come-first-served spot at the Pfeiffer Big Sur campsite. Did I mention that our Fernwood campsite looked like this?
We didn’t want to leave. But we eventually lucked out at Pfeiffer Big Sur (which, by the way, has the most frustrating system EVER for assigning campsites) and got one that looked like this:
Mmmmm, trees. This was the first time I ever felt like my 11-16mm lens wasn’t wide enough.
Throughout the day it got progressively more and more overcast, and by the time we had camp set up at Pfeiffer Big Sur, it had started drizzling a bit. We went for a hike anyway on the Valley View Trail, although with the clouds, there wasn’t much valley to see. We did catch a glimpse of our campsite from the night before though!
Oddly enough, we weren’t actually in Limekiln State Park when we saw this bench.
The aforementioned “valley view.” Which was mostly a cloud.
